The search is on for the hottest new up and coming urban comics to grace a stage. We all know there is a first time for everyone; such as the great Richard Pryor, Redd Foxx and the late Robin Harris, and the new greats, The Wayans Bros., Jamie Fox, Dave Chappell, Monique, Chris Rock , Sommore, and DL Hughley, to name a few.
We are looking for the next Comic great of our time. It’s time for some new blood!! We are on the prowl and getting great laughs from it! ComicsOnFire will hold showcased at the latest and greatest venues for urban comics across the country. The audience will judge and critique performances, and a different Celebrity will host each show. Winners will receive up to $5,000.00 in cash and prizes! The winner from each show will receive $500. The Grand Prize winner of the final show will win $2,000, for total cash winnings of $2,500 plus industry recognition and chance to perform on nation television. (show to be announced)
Comics on Fire will allow MikeJack Enterprises,LLC to create and build upon relationships with sponsors, comedians, managers, agents, promoters and the people we need the most, the audience! An ongoing showcase will get the show moving and grooving at a rapid pace (like a wildfire), and give you a chance to gain the confidence needed to survive the showcase at the end of the competition. While our show will be based in Southern California, we will be looking for and advertising for comics from all over the country.
Want the chance to show off your skills? Local comedians can enter by auditioning at The Comedy Union. Please note: you must call the number above for reservations. For those of you, who are not local, just submit the enclosed form and a 15 minute videotape to MikeJack Enterprises by February 15, 2005. Only six comedians will advance to the finals at the end of the competition. All shows will be taped in front of a live audience. Competitors will receive honor, industry recognition, cash, and prizes.
Comedians presenting inappropriate material will not be considered. Applicants are already being registered. There are only eight slots open per show in a total of five shows so register online now at ComicsonFire.com! Only highly skilled and motivated comedians are urged to apply. The audience will select all winners.
Additionally, MikeJack Enterprises will donate a portion of the proceeds from all shows to charities such as the Magic Johnson Foundation, and The Tavis Smiley Foundation. This is a great way to gain exposure and hone your comedic skills at the same time.

Little known fact #2
Eddie Murphy was born and raised in Long Island in a middle-class community. His sense of humor was ever-present as a child, and he was the proverbial class clown in school. Voted the most popular student at his high school, Murphy was a comedic prodigy, performing for money at the age of fifteen. By eighteen, he was a headline act on the circuit. A year later he passed an audition to appear on the NBC cult hit “Saturday Night Live”.
